Manna from Heaven

In the Old Testament, God sent manna from heaven to feed the Israelites as they wandered in the desert.

Exodus 16:14  And when the layer of frost lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. vs.15  So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another,  “What is it?”  For they did not know what it was.

And Moses said to them, ” This is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat.  vs. 16  This is the thing which the Lord has commanded; ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man gather it according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ”

In the New Testament,  God is sending His Word.  It is like manna from heaven.  Word of God is our bread of life, our spiritual Bread of Life, our spiritual manna from heaven!

John 6:47  Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.  vs. 48  I am the bread of life.  vs. 49  Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.  vs. 50  This is the bread that I give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

As the Israelites could not store up the manna in the desert or it would spoil.  So also, we should not store up words from the Lord or they will rot (so to speak) in the containers of ourselves.  If we receive specific bible verses and/or words from the Lord, we should speak them out to others in some manner.

Just as the children of Israel gathered manna in the desert; We should gather “manna” as the “Word of God” daily from the Bible to sustain us and others in this spiritual desert of a world in which we live.

Luke 4:4  But Jesus answered him saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Those Blinded

Seems my heart is concerned about the need for people to grasp the concept of eternity.  The concern is that if people are not alerted to the actual fact of eternity, then their eternity could actually be in jeopardy of hellfire!

So, suppose you were thinking a certain way, imaginatively or even in the spirit.  Did you ever hear of “Stream of Consciousness” in writing?  Well, I am quite sure that this is an example of it:

Feel, see, hear, the raging red hot flames!  There is an infernal wall of crackling flames breaking through my consciousness.  Knowing it is there, feeling the unrelenting heat.  It is there, over the chasm, down within the inescapable pit.  It is like I can see persons stoically walking towards the pit. Terrifyingly walking toward hell!

Yet, stop!  I am praying, in the Spirit, along with others who have the … “mind of Christ” (I Cor. 2:16).  Intercessors are praying and standing in the gap.  Urgent prayers are being offered up for the lost!

We have our arms outstretched.  Crying and pleading. Stop!! Halt!!  As many with spiritual blinders over their eyes are continuing to mechanically advance towards the pit. They cannot see it, the chasm of hell!  They cannot see what is in front of them, the infernal, fiery pit of hell!  They cannot discern or spiritually see. Nor do they care if they do. The lost are deceived and cannot “see” as they are stoically advancing to fall into the flaming pit of hell!

Isaiah 59:8, 9, 10

The way of peace they do not know: there is no justice in their paths. They have turned them into crooked roads; no one who walks along them will know peace.

So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us.  We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.

Like the blind, we grope along the wall,  feeling out way like people without eyes.  At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead.

Tooth Testimony

Many seem to be skeptical about God’s healing. It does take a little faith. So, I am telling you this story that it may build your faith but it doesn’t mean to totally skip dentists or doctors.  At least have a little faith in God’s healing power because it does happen.  I have found that when I speak of it with words– it is like the person can’t believe it or handle it and they sort of drift off…So I am writing it.

As I finished writing my book, “Memories Under The Linden Tree” which is my testimony written in short stories, part of my tooth broke off.  My plan was to use the last of my “extra” thousand dollars to get the book published.  So, when I went to the dentist about my tooth, he said it needed to be pulled and it turned out it would cost the same amount as getting my tooth pulled. Also at one point he had said I needed a root canal. It must have been the look on my face, because the dentist seemed a little stressed when he told me that he has seen people have problems when then don’t get this done.

Okay, that was five years ago. Over the course of a year, this is what occurred:  Of course, I got my book published.  Parts of my tooth broke off and fell out.  I rinsed my mouth with peroxide every day. Soon, there was a hole in my gum where the tooth had been. I continued to rinse my mouth every day with peroxide.  Then one day, this black root popped out of the hole in my gum (Holy Ghost root canal!).  Continued to rinse my mouth. One day I felt something about 1/16 inch long protruding out of the roof of my mouth.  I could just feel it with my tongue. I wondered what it was but it didn’t bother me too much.  It was like a hard flap of something.  Well, I noticed over the course of a couple weeks or even days that it moved towards my teeth and soon there was a flap over my hole in my gum and it covered the entire hole! I was surprised too!  So, basically now I  have a partial tooth where there was no tooth!  Praise God!

Face…Skull, Body..Skeleton

Face…skull, face…skull, body…skeleton, body…skeleton. We have both. The question is … are we walking around in the land of the living… or the dead. Our choice! We are not pawns of the devil. We have the freedom to choose. But what a choice that is!!

Flip side. We are to be dead to sin, world. We are to become alive to Christ, Jesus.

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.

Job 28:27 Then He saw wisdom and declared it.
He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out,
vs. 28 And to man He said, “Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil, that is understanding.

Catapulting Crashing Pine

The intricacies of everyday life (If we can see the workings of God woven through like a tapestry)  should be enough to understand how blessed we are.  Sometimes letting God’s tapestry in our lives become mundane to us causes us to need a crash or a jolt to wake us up to what we should be doing.  That is sort of how I am feeling concerning “writing” while pondering the catapulting pine tree from 50 feet in the air that narrowly missed crashing into my house.

Listening to the sound of the wind while resting and feeling safe being inside. But that changed as the wind roared louder and unbelievably louder (I heard it said before) “like a freight train”.  Frantic for a minute, thinking I should get out before hearing a loud Cr-a-a-ck!  Then something crashing on my house.  Examining the kitchen, I half expected to see a tree through my house.  Everything seemed okay, just the clock off the wall. And I could only see some fallen tree branches through the window in the dark as the lightning flashed.

After the wind had stopped, about two hours later, I heard another very loud crashing sound.  More like a tree landing on the ground.  In the morning, there was 30 ft. off the top of a large pine tree laying on the ground.  It had missed everything that could have been damaged and there were branches from other trees on the roof of my house. That the second crash was the fall of the tree top had been stopped by the branches of the other large trees!

My personal self was in a bit of shock for a day or so.  This psalm came to my attention:  Psalm 121

vs.1      I will lift up my eyes to the hills–From whence comes my help?

vs. 2     My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

vs. 3     He will not allow your foot to be moved;  He who keeps you will not slumber.

vs. 4      Behold, He who keeps Israel   shall neither slumber nor sleep.

vs. 5      The Lord is your keeper;  The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

vs. 6       The sun shall not strike you by day,   Nor the moon by night.

vs. 7      The Lord will preserve you from all evil;  He shall preserve your soul.

vs. 8       The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in

From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Above the Clouds

Recently, flying home from a trip, gazing out the window of the plane; couldn’t help being in awe of the miles and miles of the breath-taking view of the white, fluffy, ethereal clouds beneath the plane.  Couldn’t help thinking things like this must be what it’s like to be close to heaven, so peaceful, pristine, so beautiful.  There were miles and miles of clouds and that is all that could be seen for a while.

And then, strangely, it seemed as though the plane were standing still!  It was impossible to get my bearings staring at a cloud.  But it really seemed like we were standing still in a plane up there!  Then I was thinking, oh well, maybe we are going to die.  Wait a minute, I don’t think I am supposed to die yet!  I think there are more things for me to do!

After this, I felt in a revelatory way some sort of “hurt” from childhood leave me. (That is the best I can explain it. I believe I got a “deliverance/ healing” up there!) Then a thick “peace” fell over me, heavily covered me. I was so peacefully, joyfully, happy.  I prayed, “God I never want to stop feeling this way!”  I have always had a lot of  nagging anxiety in my life unable to experience very much “peace”.  And when Christians said they had “peace”–  well, I could never quite get it!

I have noticed a huge difference in the way I react to hurtful issues since the healing experience on the airplane.  Nothing is hurting me so deeply or personally as before.  Also if I am hurt, I seem to get over it much more quickly.  So, I know that I definitely received a healing/deliverance up there!

To top that off, the plane arrived to it’s destination one hour earlier than the scheduled time and when we left the airport one half hour late!  So, when I was telling my son about being seemingly stopped up there but getting back early.  He jokingly said, “Mom, don’t you know they stop for gas up there!”  And I thought about that for a half a second and then said, “They can’t do that up there!”
